The kit itself is fine and my 4runner actually rides smoother and handles well and installs. I'm a mechanic so this is a typical job for me but someone who knows how to do it can install everything in half a day. The instructions and customer support are the reason I gave it 3 stars over 5. Firstly, you don't have to disassemble the A-pillar assembly (which can be very dangerous and hasn't even tried the average tree shade mechanic), you do need to use a jack to slacken the spring tension when disassembling the suspension, but the kit allows you to Installing spacers on top of the strut assembly I thought was a great design feature. There are many things that if listed in the guide would make this installation much easier and hassle free. First, you're forcing the original suspension to stretch to its limits, so crowbars, dowel pins, etc. necessitate aligning the holes to reinstall the bolts, maybe even a helper for an extra pair of hands. When installing from the front, loosening the upper arm pivot bolt closest to the motor allows the upper arm to move freely so you can install and then re-tighten the gasket. The rear emergency and fluid brake lines will also need to be bent to accommodate the new extra length. It helps to detach them from the brackets. However, if you disconnect the rear fluid line, you will need to bleed the brakes. I also bought a Toyota 1" front diff kit to reduce the CV angles. Digging is also easy. My big complaint is that right after installing this kit both internal dust hinges broke. I explained this by saying that they were old and original, so I bought some axles from Oreilys to replace them. 6000 miles and 4 months later these anthers broke too. I've never owned or worked on 4WD vehicles with raised independent suspension, but I didn't expect this kind of unreliability. I called Daystar and they basically told me to go sand and that I just need to buy new OEM CV axles ( I always try to shift the blame and blame everything but their product.) I doubt that this would solve the problem, but after doing some research and talking to toyotec I found some solutions. ng (or laying) on the narrow side of the CV joint. To alleviate this, you can either order axles with another better silicone boot from CVJ AXLES in Denver, which Toyota recommended, or you can remove the small clip on the CV inner boot and slide the boot down a bit until the CV -Joint boot has a bellows no longer touching and then re-clamped with two clamps fastened together (two is better than one, only for axle balancing if the clamps are 180 degrees apart). I have a lifetime guarantee and I've already spent the money otherwise I would have gone for CVJ bridges, their prices are reasonable. Toyotac and CVJ helped me a lot to solve my problems. If it weren't for them I might have removed the kit because while a 2.5 inch lift is cool, running your 4runner every month isn't. That's why we bought Toyotas! If Daystar had revealed this in the instructions and been more helpful, I would have easily given 5 stars. After that you will need to adjust the suspension, but I would recommend riding it for a day or so first to allow the suspension to settle down. Hope that helps
