The full perimeter of the stamped aluminum belt guide is very sharp and even appears to have a few sharp points in places (see first photo - edge shown is not the leading edge of the belt as these are photos taken after were included during installation ) . Fortunately, prior to the final installation of my belt, I found that leaving this part in this condition will damage the tension belt. I took a bastard file and rounded the leading edge to avoid damaging the belt. While the file seemed to help, even extreme care damaged the belt - I hope it's not enough to cause problems in the future. However, since it is an elastic strap with high tension, I may consider replacing it in the near future. I will not buy again.
