Air Intake Bracket

I recently purchased this CAI for my 2009 F-150 with 5.4 engine. This is my first time using CAI and I have to say I'm not too impressed with Volant so far. The installation instructions are sketchy at best, and the engineering is a bit lacking. Overall the installation was pretty easy if you don't need specific instructions. For example, there is no mention of emptying the OEM coolant expansion tank. I know it's pretty obvious that this needs to be done, but why isn't it mentioned? The replacement coolant tank attaches to the inner fender with ONE bolt, it is a fairly long tank half filled with coolant. He's a little heavy. Volant solves this problem by including a short metal tongue and a rubber grommet, at least there should be a rubber grommet, there is no shaft. This metal tab is attached to the airbox with two screws and the other end supports the bottom of the coolant tank. Of course you will need to measure, mark and drill holes in the airbox to mount the bracket! Another thing that worries me is the MAF attachment point on the intake manifold. It's not particularly flat, which worries me a bit about vacuum leaks. I'll have to keep an eye on it. For something that is supposedly 'engineered' for specific vehicles and costs that much, this CAI leaves a lot to be desired! I'll probably try K&N next time.
