I tested this product on the stand to determine its characteristics. With a 12V input at a current draw of 3A and a power rating of 1.5A I get a load regulation of 3.6%. The voltage did not drop below 4.9 V, the device consumed more than 2.5 amperes. I was also able to draw 2 amps and keep the output voltage above 4.9V with an input voltage of 6 to 24V. During peak and over current, the regulator stayed cool. I bought it to power my Ooma Telo with a 12V backup battery which is necessary to keep my VoIP system running during a power outage. I am very confident that this regulator will work for my intended application.
