On my 2008 Can-Am 800XT I have a skid plate that covers the entire area where the bolts need to be installed. I am not the original owner so this plate may not be original and others may not have this issue. If you have a panel that covers the entire frame, you'll probably need to do what I did. You must remove the skid plate and make a notch in it in order for the skid plate to be used with the plow arm. Once you remove the protective plate, you will see where it should be installed. One issue I had with the over frame mount was the bolts were only 1/2" too short. I replaced them with longer bolts and everything worked great.
