The fastening tape is sticky and strong. I installed it on the back of the phone's battery compartment. The back of the battery compartment is curved rather than flat, but the Gearlock universal mount adapter still fits snugly. The adapter is not too thick. I installed it on my bike with my phone, it never falls off.
