Review on X0 001G Analytical Precision Electronic 200X0 001G by Montrell Copeland

I've gone through many possibilities for a personal experiment at home. I was looking for something at a good price with decent accuracy and after reading hundreds of reviews - good and bad - and about a hundred different scales I settled on this one. It was well priced, with a deviation of about +/- 0.004g at its worst performance. My main concern was that the devices I received were either heavily used or broken. I was thrilled when the first device arrived and was already disappointed when unpacking it. As can be seen in the photos, all the glass panes had scratches, which didn't really bother me, but what saddened me was the condition of the scale. It had a large wound (circled in red) indicating it was NOT BRAND NEW as I ordered. I immediately returned it and bought another one hoping it was a mistake. My second unit arrived and it wasn't scratched like the other one, but it was worse than the previous unit. After careful packaging, just like last time, I noticed a small piece of plastic (circled in yellow) stuck in my sensor, effectively destroying my hardware! I tried to calibrate it but the stuck plastic was putting pressure on the sensor. I think it could be a good scale, but unfortunately I've received defective units time and time again and for that reason I can't give a good review. One last note, please review the content before saving.
