They replaced 11 year old worn out hood latches. I drive 100 km to and from work every day, mostly on the freeway. Most days the hood flap was just noticeable, but on a windy day it sounded like I was losing parts of my Jeep. I looked at the many styles available and they fit me best and this imitation had the best price at the time. This completely eliminated the hood flapping. Installation was easy thanks to the instructions and took less than 15 minutes. Getting to the bottom latch bracket behind the fender is a little tricky, but patience meant I didn't let the nut fall into the abyss. I adjusted the top latches (the part that attaches to the hood) to their lowest point and they are still very tight. When I want to open the hood, I have to pull on them to release them, which is only bad if you're not expecting it and bang them into your fender. It's unfortunate if you painted the fenders, but my Jeep is a battlefield and every scratch and dent makes me love it more. One last note, they're a bit bigger than I expected, but they're moving away from stock, which doesn't surprise me after looking at them. on them.
