The cushion fits perfectly under my 7ft 9" x 10ft jute rug. It was easy to cut to fit my rug - after taking a few measurements to see if the grip points were parallel to the edges, I used them as a guide to cut a few inches in length and width. I did the trimming with scissors in just a few minutes. It adds a bit of softness to the rug, but I bought it mainly for its non-slip nature. When two dogs (100lbs and 80lbs) walk across a rug that's on a hardwood floor, it stays in place (and does it also didn't stay in place before going into the pillow.)
