Review on πŸ”’ Grade 8 Steel Lock Nut with Zinc Yellow-Chromate Plated Finish, Right Hand Threads, Nylon Insert, 1"-8 Threads, 1.615" Width Across Flats by Alex Barnes

This good nut does what it's supposed to do

Beyond the obvious, I'll summarize my thoughts on its quality/accuracy/usability Quality: Without lab testing, it looks comparable to other Class 8 components I've used trust and use regularly. The nylon used is exactly what you'd expect from a grade 8 nut. Precision: I was able to thread it onto the nylon with just the right spacing between strands with ease. The nut is the same on all sides. Ease of use: The nut I bought is 1-1/8"-7 and I had to use a variable temperature heat gun on the nylon insert twice for about 45 seconds at 3/4 power to tighten the bolt through the insert on the first round I managed to fill it almost completely, one picture shows how far it went on the first try and the other shows the nut being pulled back 1 turn to illustrate how close it was was on a full thread on that first try.I saw a negative review from another person and it may have happened that they got a defective nut or maybe they damaged the threads trying to put them on the worn ones threads of their original screw. In terms of my experience I am very satisfied and will definitely buy again if I need additional equipment.
