Review on Dynaplug Bicycle Tubeless Repair Pointy by Brian Olson

They are suitable as a permanent solution for tubeless racing bikes

After I switched to tubeless on my racing bike (Schwalbe Pro One), I tried other similar products only with "bacon strips". They worked well enough but failed after 50-100 miles. After swallowing a $60 Dyanplug tablet, I started using it. I had no luck with the punctures, but the "soft nose tips" got me back on the road very quickly. I had one instance where I hit a large puncture seemingly right where my existing plug was in my tire and it had to be opened further because it started squirting sealant. I stopped, put another plug in, and although that sealed the deal, the tip of the first one came loose, rattling the tire for the rest of the ride - but I was sealed against leaks, and that's what matters. The tire was pretty worn so I removed and replaced it but the other two plugs looked fine (see pic). The pointed ones will damage the rim tape if the tire goes flat with the tire stuck there. They're a bit harder to sink in, but they're flatter than pointed tips and I feel a little more confident with my rim tape. At $2 a plug that's a lot compared to replacing tubes or a new tire and in my experience they are permanent mounts as the tip keeps them from popping out and the sealant from sticking to the plug. The longest run I've done on the Dynaplug was 1000 miles. The tire wears out before the plug comes out.
