Description of Dynaplug Bicycle Tubeless Repair Pointy

Dynaplug 5-pack of POINTY NOSE BRASS Tip Repair Plugs are best for the smallest of holes that sealant just can’t handle. When needed, just remove whatever caused the puncture, firmly push the tool’s novel insertion tube straight (without twisting) into the hole and extract the tool depositing the repair plug in the tire, done! Used in the tread, sidewalls and along the rim. Store these sticky plugs in the PVC tray packaging or in the SS insertion tube! Rolling in wax paper also can work. If a single plug is not enough to seal a hole, just fold the ‘tail’ flat on the tire; hold it with your finger and stick another one in there! Add as many plugs as needed, folding each tail against the tire as you insert plugs. A plug tail can be snipped off later if it bothers you; trim to about 4mm long depending on the location!. Dynaplug is a US company based in Chico, California. Made with pride in the USA.

Saved me on several long gravel rides!

I drive many questionable roads and come across thorns and nails. Right after I got my new tubeless setup last year, I stumbled on a monster nail that sealing couldn't fix. I hooked it up to one of those plugs and managed to put 2500 miles on these tires with the same plug. It didn't move. I've ridden everything from 25°F snow to 100°F searing heat. If it doesn't sell those forks, I don't know what will.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Replacement availability

Excellent replacement plugs

I bought these as a replacement pack. These plugs are very suitable for securing tubeless tires on the racetrack. They go very well with the Dynaplug tool you use to repair your tire. The metal tip works really well to get through the hoop and then stays in place when you pull it back out. I now have a rear tire with three of these plugs and have had no leaks at all. You'll spend a few dollars on these plugs and save a lot more dollars by not having to change tires. This is necessary when…

Wow - it really works!

I've been riding my racing bike without a tube for almost two years. I've never found a good solution for big holes that haven't closed until now! These plugs really work. I recently had one of those scary big flat tires - I could get home without stopping - but with sealant all over the bike (and legs!) I pulled out my DynaPlug kit and started putting this plug in the hole. It only took a minute - and ta-yes - the problem is solved! Well - I've driven about 600 miles since that flat tire and…

  • Everything is fine!

  • Questionable purchase for seniors

The only plugs I will use.

They do an excellent job of repairing small holes that sealant can't fix. I use higher pressures (over 80psi) and sealants don't seem to work as advertised once you get over 70psi, even the ones I've tried are rated for high pressure. Stan's plugs will get you home, but for me, as it turns out, they weren't a permanent solution. I can patch a puncture and inflate a tire to 90psi on the fly with no problem. I haven't tried bacon strips and I think they would work too, but the pills take up very…

Pros
  • Perfect for a small home

  • Out of style

They are suitable as a permanent solution for tubeless racing bikes

After I switched to tubeless on my racing bike (Schwalbe Pro One), I tried other similar products only with "bacon strips". They worked well enough but failed after 50-100 miles. After swallowing a $60 Dyanplug tablet, I started using it. I had no luck with the punctures, but the "soft nose tips" got me back on the road very quickly. I had one instance where I hit a large puncture seemingly right where my existing plug was in my tire and it had to be opened further because it started squirting…

Pros
  • inspire confidence

  • useless functions
