I help people with computers and I carry this adapter in my bag. It is cheaper than other adapters using the same Realtek RTL8812BU chipset. It works very well with the included antenna: three rooms away from my router, I was approaching my ISP's maximum speed of 120 Mbit/s with antenna and 40 Mbit/s without. I have confirmed that it works on Windows and Mac; I haven't tried this on Linux: - Windows 7 and 8.1 64-bit if you install the driver (from minidisk or website) - Windows XP SP3 if you install the driver - Win10XPE (live, bootable recovery CD/USB based on Windows 10) without drivers - macOS High Sierra (10.13.6) if you install the driver - and requires a reboot. Also, you can use the Windows driver (via Device Manager) to limit the speed/compatibility if you only want b/g/n or a/n, for example. I appreciate the practical packaging when I want to give the device to a customer; I bought a "nanoscale" Wi-Fi adapter at the same time, and its box turned out to be twice as big!
