The software isn't the best, but it offers you additional features.

This book scanner from Plustek does an excellent job. Scanned images and text are crisp, and the speed of the process allows you to use your time efficiently. It was easy to set up, and while the software that comes with it is a bit difficult to use, you do get access to additional features.
