📚 Plustek OpticBook 4900: The Ultimate Book Scanner for Professional Document Digitization – Ideal for Professors, Researchers, Authors, and Graduate Students Review

This book scanner from Plustek does an excellent job. Scanned images and text are crisp, and the speed of the process allows you to use your time efficiently. It was easy to set up, and while the software that comes with it is a bit difficult to use, you do get access to additional features.

If you do a lot of research, this scanner is indispensable. It's quick to set up and easy to use. The user interface is clunky and not particularly intuitive. But once you're familiar, it's easy. The performance is reliable. Runs quietly and saves a lot of time. So far I haven't encountered any problems. I wish it could fit legal sized pages, but it works with most materials.

Excellent out of the box scanner. The manufacturer has made setup easy and the software is great. The resolution of the scanned documents is simply fantastic. As a flatbed scanner, it's particularly good for photos and documents, not to mention books and transcripts. The software simplifies cataloging and data storage. Well built and light enough to be portable. Very good inexpensive scanner for this quality.

Once set up, it scans about as fast as I can put the paper or document I want to scan in it. It also works double-sided with little fanfare. It sends the documents wherever you want, in your special folder that you have created for them. It's a well-made piece of technology, all the bits and pieces fit together well, and the gaps and seams are even and consistent throughout the scanner. It's also very good at keeping everything in place, and pulling up a paper or document is as easy as scanning

great scanner. It scans pages very quickly and can even scan double-sided pages. I have a hard time navigating everything, but I'm not the type of person who spends a lot of time on things like this. It requires downloading the app and browsing the app to do what you need. Everything can be stored in folders you create so you can easily find them later. First of all I got this so I can do my business research much faster and it really works! It only takes a few seconds to scan each document and they go straight to the folder I set up. Thanks to OCR, I can now take any of those printed documents and books and search for keywords... saving me many, many hours of reading/scanning to find what I'm looking for! That being said, the software is a bit clunky and it took me a while to get used to how it worked as it wasn't all that intuitive for me…

This scanner seems to work fine without too many settings, you need to download the Plustek BookMaker app and use the scanner, you MUST go through this software. This was the only negative point for me as I see it as a weak link. First the positives: Setup was easy, no issues downloading the software and trying to get it working the first time.
