My JBL Horizon fell on the floor and the minute count lost several segments causing confusion when reading in the middle of the night. That's why I wanted to replace it. I found a list of "high fidelity clock radios" and selected them to play music from my iPhone via Bluetooth. The sound is just NOT in the same league. It sounds muddy, indistinct, and the volume is barely acceptable. I can't imagine being dependent on it when I need to wake up. Some may think that if fidelity is not taken care of, a dirty sound is suitable for gaming when a person is trying to fall asleep. As it is not loud or bright enough, it is not suitable for waking up. I miss JBL a lot. I even miss the $15 Panasonic cube I bought in 1989 and used for almost thirty years. The JBL Horizon succeeds more convincingly in dimming in dark rooms and brightening in bright rooms. I liked the twilight light feature. Now I have an iWatch and this iHome clock radio is definitely the one to charge it up. But that's all I would use it for. In terms of clock, radio, alarm clock or Bluetooth playback tool, it does not have a satisfactory IME.
