Converts HDMI output to Windows webcam without drivers - Zoom Video & Audio - Plug and Play!

Easy connection for my use - Records audio and video from a camcorder to a PC for use in a Zoom webcast taking place in a large room. As you can see from the photos, a successful HDMI capture from my Canon HF R800 camcorder to a UniSheen UC3200H capture box and my Win10 laptop via USB 3. Works great. Pros: + Completely plug-and-play + Good picture and color quality of the recorded video (see photo) + Sound is also reproduced well (of course, the HDMI output function of my camera, as well as UniSheen). This was important in my case as I use a directional microphone in the camera to get good sound from the speakers at the front of the room and wanted the audio and video to mix for simplicity, audio quality and avoiding A/V in the same stream are problems -synchronization. + Small (two packs of rubber or so) + Strong aluminum case that also doubles as a heatsink for the chips inside (see image showing the thermal paste on the chips, which is then pressed against the inside of the case). , nice attention to detail) + LEDs for power and action (means video coming in) reassuring and useful as diagnostics + USB 3.0 AA cable included is useful as AA cables are not that common + active hardware codec reduced CPU utilization (don't underestimate help) Areas for improvement - Runs fairly warm, but again it's the heatsink to be expected. However, it would be great if it could be a bit cooler, for example by machining the fins in the case to help with heat dissipation. HDMI outputs are common on MANY of the best cameras, so in these days of WFH and other virtual events, being able to convert ANY camera with an HDMI output into a webcam is extremely useful. A few details: βœ… I had to go into the camera settings and turn off the onscreen icons on the HDMI output to get a clean picture. Of course it depends on the camera. βœ… I had to play with the microphone settings to get the right signal level for good sound quality in Zoom. In this case I'm using a Shure LensHopper YP83 mic (an amazing mic for this type of work) and the mid gain setting worked the best. Can be further configured with camera microphone levels as well as audio levels in Zoom.Net, highly recommended for converting any camera with HDMI output into a webcam and all the new flexibility that comes with it.
