Review on πŸ”Š PAC SNI-35 Adjustable LOC Line Out Converter by Darryl Blumenthal

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits well with some ifs and buts

Bought with high expectations. I bought it to connect my micro CD system to my new amp. Until I got this converter I used the headphone output to connect to my amp. The price was reasonable and it wouldn't hurt to try. First impression - looks solid. There's even a performance adjustment. Although the instructions are well written, it is surprising that the RCA output had no L and R markings. I had to try using the balance control on the amp to find out. This is the first time I've found a good use for adjusting the balance on an amp :-) Performance - I'm impressed that this thing doesn't produce any hum. But overall I didn't find it too big for me. The sound seems to be muffled in the middle frequencies. high sharp. but i found it too spicy. The sound seemed fuller and richer when connected to the headphone output than when it came out of this converter. I probably had the opportunity to compare and that's how I found the difference. Otherwise, if you're just using it to get the RCA out of the high-level output, you'll probably be fine. Although it is now connected to my amp. but I don't get to use it often unless I really need that extra line out option. I'll probably leave it on standby as I'm more comfortable with the sonority of the headphones.
