Review on ZYLISS 3-in-1 Mango Tool: Slicer, Peeler, and Pit Remover for Easy Mango Preparations by Amber Jensen

My weekend job is fruit cutting

I have a weekend job cutting fruit for a national grocery chain. I bought one of these machines because slicing mangoes is a pain in the ass and I wanted to make my life a little easier if possible. To be honest I wasn't expecting much so I didn't have too high expectations. Kitchen gadgets always leave you a little (or very) disappointed. However, I am happy to say that I am completely satisfied with this purchase. He does what I need and does it well. I always read bad reviews about a product I'm about to buy so I've seen some people say it didn't work, that it broke their fruit, that they never got a good share and that it was a waste of money . That's some nonsense. The only thing I can think of is that these people just didn't understand how to use it properly and/or suffered some kind of brain injury in the past. I saw a photo uploaded by a customer showing them placing the mango sideways into the base. Yes. it will not work. I would say I get a perfect cut around the hole 70% of the time. You will often slide along the edge of the hole. However, this is not so important. Small bits of material can be easily removed with your fingertips. And the curve of the blade will bring you more real fruit than the straight edge of a knife. One thing that doesn't work as advertised is using a base to extract the fruit from the skin. I mean. seems to work. but not quite. He's a good one to start with and he'll wow you all because he seems to be working like a world champion. And then the mango spout hits the table and all progress ends. Should I dock a star for that? Fur. I do not think so. The bottom gives this tool so much value in terms of stabilizing the fruit being cut that I'll let it slip away. Would I only buy this for personal use? I think if I eat a lot of mangoes I could do it. But I do not know. For the occasional mango, you could get away with just a knife. But if, like me, you process 25-30 mangoes at a time, you save a lot of time.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Not as good as it says it is
