I have a very reliable volt/ohm meter that I bought a few years ago that runs on batteries. The ohmmeter has served me well over the years, but it has a downside; I have to remove the batteries after each use to prevent corrosion from accumulating in the meter. This is because the amount of time between uses can cause the batteries to drain. This problem does not exist with this volt test magnetic voltage tester because the tester does not contain batteries. It tests AC or DC up to 660 volts. It uses a buzzer and indicator light to indicate the presence of voltage. It's easy to use and when I'm done I just pop it back in my toolbox without worrying about draining the battery. It's worth every penny I paid.
