Build quality is good for the money. Love the fact that you can adjust gain and capacitance which makes a huge difference with my pickup (Goldring). The device was quiet and had a good PCB layout. The case is not heavy, but sufficient. I would have liked the extra cord length on the AC power adapter. While I thought it was good value for money, I wanted something more in terms of fidelity. I ended up buying a MOON preamp through Revain and am happy with it, but I had to add about $400 to the investment. Thus, at a modest price, the FX Audio is a good entry-level preamp with predictable performance and good gain and load control.
