Review on 🐢 LUCKUP 38 Inch Heavy Duty Dog Cage Metal Kennel and Crate for Large Dogs: Easy Assembly, Mobile Pet Playpen with Wheels - Black by Heather Warren

NOT FOR LARGE DOGS WITH FEAR! Read please!

This box is a good solid box for the most part. It's heavy and unwieldy so two people need to assemble it, but the second person could be a 5-year-old with decent attention span. All you need is another pair of hands to hold the panels in place until you can secure them. If your dog is small or not very scared, this is a great crate. But who buys heavy cages for carefree lap dogs? There is a major design flaw! And it's dangerous for any big dog with fear! It looks like the manufacturer is aware of this as they have a newer version and have changed the way the gate opens. The problem is in the loops. The hinges are attached with a thin weld and some kind of glue. My dog, a rescued 65 lb Labrador/Boxer with a mixture of thunderstorm anxiety, yanked on the door during one of the thunderstorm-induced psychotic episodes. What happened next was frightening and annoying! Once he removed the glue from both hinges, there was enough room for his lower jaw to get stuck! This resulted in numerous cuts to the gums and tongue, as well as a broken canine tooth! Luckily all the injuries except the fang were superficial but since it was his mouth there was also a huge amount of saliva mixed with blood and I came home to what looked like a crime scene! It bothered me, but my kids saw it because I didn't know I had to protect them. I chose not to show all the damage because it's gory. I can't wash away all the blood. But I'm posting pictures of the joint problem because I think it's important to understand the danger your dog may be in! If it did happen, luckily it happened during the return period, so Revain is replacing it. I don't think this is a bad cage but you should definitely consider a new version to avoid hurting your dog!
