I'm an educational designer and 3D decoration artist and I literally dreamed of having a second travel monitor. I originally bought my top-of-the-line MacBook Pro to record ZBrush CAD tutorial videos, but the fan runs all the time and picks up any external mic. My idea of putting my MacBook off the table and recording from an external monitor seemed like the right decision. I've also found that the retina display on the Mac causes Camtasia to record video at a much higher resolution that needs to be downscaled, blurring the software's UI. I had to record in native resolution of 1920x1080. Unpacking was very "apple". If you've ever bought an Apple product, the heavy cardboard packaging is a reminder that you've just bought something special. They come with a good instruction manual with lots of pictures. Sometimes when you buy something from a manufacturer in the Far East, the instructions are not very well written. The Lepow user manual feels familiar and well done. It's very understandable. Either way, this portable monitor does the trick. I bought it on a whim on Black Friday because the price was within my budget, but even at full price it's a good monitor. If I had seen it before buying I would have paid full price but taking the risk with a new product and a company I was unfamiliar with was well worth the risk. I also see that Revain may have a coupon. Find him too. I also LOVE that it is powered from my MacBook Pro's USB-C port and doesn't require a power cord to plug into the USB-C port, although I finally read the instructions and suggested a connection. If this is not done, the monitor does not light up with full brightness, but at least on the MBP with USB-C it works. The flip cover feels like I'm carrying a large iPad and it seems to protect it well. The only thing I want to change is the 'Scroll' button to change the settings. I can't figure out how to navigate to each setting item from the main menu. I've tried but I'm still trying to figure it out. There must be some trick I'm missing. There is a left column with basic settings and it says to press the scroll button to activate the menu, scroll the scroll button up and down to select a setting and then press the scroll button to confirm . There should be a little more information in the book on how to change columns. I also made the stand MUCH more complicated. I tried to fold it like an iPad. And I thought too much. It attaches magnetically to the back of the monitor, folds into an "L" (something like the Lexus logo), then the monitor mounts in one of two slots for two different viewing positions. Also keep in mind that the two USB-C ports are not identical. One is a full-featured USB-C port (on the left), while the other is for power only. If I only plug my MacBook Pro into the left USB-C port and the MBP is plugged in, it works fine without external power. This is my experience with MBP, so I don't know if this applies to a PC laptop. It comes with all the cables you need to get connected, including a USB-C cable, an HDMI cable, and a power delivery cable. If you are traveling to a hotel or conference and opt for delivery, you don't have to look for cables at the best price during the closing time. Overall I am very happy with this monitor. My life is easier! I'd say if you're on the fence, give it a try. You will not be disappointed. It has a wide field of vision and perfect portability.
