The Medium bowl is not big enough for 1.5 to 3 cups of food. It barely fits 1 cup of small pellet dry food. Thankfully we only feed our dogs 1 cup for each meal. I have a pit/great dane mix and a terrier/pit mix. They'll be ok using these with the small pellet food. Also, there is no place for water without it mixing in with the food. Really upsetting when the descriptions are off!
