I needed to run a 4 inch exhaust through my garage wall for ventilation and paid to rent the equipment and this was a much cheaper alternative. My garage wall is pretty basic. You need to buy an adapter for this bit separately as it is not included. I bought the adapter at the same time as this racquet, the cost was about $10. Okay, now for the drilling. I had to drill through a cinder block in my garage, and when I tried, the bit "bounced" a lot, even at my bit's very low speeds. So how to fix it? After several searches I found several ideas. First idea, cut a 4 inch hold through a piece of plywood. Screw a 2X4 onto the same sheet to use as a pin. Make the plywood taller than you need for the hole, place the plywood against the wall, fasten it, and start drilling. It takes two people to do this and in short it didn't work at all. Second idea: I ran to the local big store and bought a very cheap 4 inch center drill saw. I also have a nice set of LONG tips of dill over masonry. I marked the spot on the wall and used a long masonry bit to drill a pilot hole through the entire block. Then I took a cheap hole saw and started drilling into the block. I didn't care if I ruined the beat, I just wanted to put some grooves into the block so the crown had a groove to grab and not miss. expensive and I'm sure it won't last as long compared to super expensive bits but for my needs I'll probably only use it a few times in the years to come, well worth it.
