I was a bit skeptical that they would fit my solid walnut interior doors but thought it was worth the effort and minimal cost for a door I have must keep. closed but didn't want to fit a more traditional door closer. I'm afraid I didn't get far enough with the install to figure this out because I didn't think about the door upholstery before I bought it. The open hinge was not enough for the door hinge to close the door skin without damaging it. You will need at least 1/4 inch of the exposed flat portion of the door hinge to clear the trim. If the round part of the loop is stuck on the rosette, you will have to make unsightly modifications to the rosette or find another solution.
