Great cotton polish

Why is this stuff so hard to find? Why aren't there such wonderful things in grocery stores? I do not understand. The first time I used this was in the Navy. We used this polishing floss to clean and polish all the brass fittings and copper parts on board the ship. This was great because the cotton swab, which looked like a polish, contained enough abrasive to clean the cakes of salt deposits and plaque on brass and copper. Then, after the product dried, we just wiped it with a rag and polished it a bit. After that, every fitting is shiny and clean. I have encountered this material only once since leaving the Navy. I grabbed this off the shelf and bought it immediately. I am also pleased. Because since then I've never seen it in stores again. When I got to where I almost ended up, I started looking online for another source. Revane really pointed that out. I bought the can again without hesitation. I use this product to polish and clean my copper utensils. I also have many copper kitchen utensils such as cups, bowls, moulds, hangers, tea towel holders and so on. It works great with all my brass. I've even used it to clean silver and gold coins. I know it's not specifically about silver or gold. But it immediately removed the tarnish and they look darn new again. I have also used this cotton for cleaning and polishing carbon steel. I have a carbon steel medieval Norman sword that has started to rust a little and has tarnished all over. This cotton will clean it, remove all plaque and make the sword shine again. It even helped a lot against rust. I've even used cotton wool to remove tarnish from some carbon steel chains. Another brilliant novelty. Aside from being just a cleaning and polishing cotton pad, I've found that this material has other uses as well. As an Eagle Scout and avid camper and survivor, this material is great for starting a fire. Fast, simple starter that lights up even in the rain. Not really heavy rain, but a light rain and even pleasant with normal rain. Even after the rain, when everything was soaked to the skin. And that's because of the high level of white spirit that's part of the polishing/cleaning chemicals soaked in cotton wool. In a hurry and need a quick fire to keep warm? Just pull out a piece, place it in the right place with kindling, touch a lit match and you're good to go. The only negative thing about this material is that it leaves marks on the hands after use. mineral spirits. and leave your hands black after cleaning and polishing metals. It's easy to clean, just use plenty of soap and warm water. You may have to wash your hands several times to wash it all off since white spirit is a natural oil.
