Review on πŸ”§ Dremel Cordless All Purpose 160-Piece Accessory Set by Ryan Bennett

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Okay, just big and heavy. and that lame wrench!?

My first Dremel so I don't know what to compare it to other than expecting it to be smaller and lighter. It's not small in the hand and certainly not light - and I'm a big guy. But I know tech is always a compromise of compromises and Dremel was there a few times this quarter so I'm assuming this zucchini size was needed for torque, speed, battery life or a combination of both, so I guess ok, ok, but I'd still like one that feels and controls more like a magic wand than an impact wrench. And that stupid open-end wrench they drop with their gear is stamped out of sheet steel, so it'll cut your fingers if you try to tighten the collar, so I have to wear a leather glove to use it. . Really, engineering department? You couldn't find another way to fix bits without this nonsense, just like every other power tool manufacturer. done in the last 25 years? Yes, this model comes with those quick bits (can't remember the cute mktg label right now) but not every accessory is compatible with this method so still fiddle with the included wrench excuse as if it's 1950. Your Best Take that obsolete 10mm open-end wrench from your tool bag so you don't have to wear gloves every time you change bits. Maybe every Dremel model is cursed with this cool surprise; As I said, this is my first product and I've never considered alternative brands, but if I were to shop now I would actually examine the knockoffs to see if any of them matched the vaunted team of Dremel engineers on the bit replacement system surpasses . Finally, now that I've tried using this tool a number of times, it seems to me that the ideal big dremel tool (as it was) would either include or complete a mini piston tool for the inside corners etc where the disc or the wheel can either not optimize or worse not even reach it. Is it anything at all, or is it just me? I'm not a machinist so I don't think about these issues anymore until I try to fit a wheel in a tight spot and all it does is carve a groove in the adjacent edge of the surface I'm trying to fit wanted to change. Even a 90Β° gear drive adapter would solve some of these problems and I'm sure you Dremel head veterans are muttering "yes you can get that" but nowhere has this been suggested, offered, implied or demonstrated. blah blah. I think the bottom line is that if Dremel wants to expand its user base with newbies who are late like me, they should throw us a bone, even if it's an additional sale.
