Review on πŸ”— Shimano CN-M732 Chain Pin Set (7/8 Speed) - Pack of 3 by Yuri Rochelin

They work - not so much

These chain pins worked for me - I used one with a Shimano CN-HG50 6/7/8 speed chain I bought from Revain also have. I installed the chain, it worked fine, but I found I left it on for too long - I didn't remove a single link from the chain. Therefore, when the chain rotated on itself in lower gears, there was nothing good in it. Unfortunately, Shimano only supplies the chain pin with the chain, so I had to buy a spare set here to shorten it - you can't reuse the pins once they're in the chain. The one I used went through with no issues and performed well on the bike. But $9 for three tiny pieces of metal? It's overpriced in my opinion and I think Shimano should offer more than a real chain. But there aren't many places to buy them, and with free 2-day shipping with Prime, I think $9 is a good deal, especially if it's a long drive to the bike shop. So they will most likely work fine, just make sure you buy the right pins for the right chain.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Having trouble
