Nice looking device. Huge savings over a traditional landline phone.

Bought this about a week ago to ditch my $60 a month Verizon landline! The beauty is that with an annual subscription to the Premier service, you can initiate a free transfer of your old phone number to Ooma. Premier has some nice extras and $9.99 a month, which is less than what Verizon charged me for caller ID! The number porting of my old number was completed in just 5 days. The Ooma website states that porting an existing phone number can take up to three or four weeks. Most of the transfer time depends on the old carrier. The device itself resembles an answering machine, and in fact the main buttons for viewing voicemails are included in the base unit. The finish of the device is a nice rubberized matte black. Looks very stylish with a blue glowing logo. Unlike traditional landlines, Ooma gives you the power to customize the way you make calls and handle voicemail. Most of these settings can be configured on the my.oom.com website. Some of the more hardware-specific settings, down to the brightness of the Ooma logo, can be adjusted on the Ooma Telo Air device's web page. You can get there by connecting an Ethernet cable between your computer and Ooma's HOME port and navigating to 172.27.35.1 with your browser. You can then plug a phone cord between Ooma Telo and any phone jack in your house, and Ooma will turn on the old internal phone cords in the house, allowing you to use your old phones with Ooma. All of these great features and I save over $50 a month on my old Verizon landline. That's the best part of it all.
