This company and this grooming tool was recommended by the Texas A&M Livestock Guardian Dog Program and it works beautifully on our extremely hairy Great Pyrenees / Anatolian Shepherd mix dog.It’s very sturdy—the handle on the last dematting tool we tried just suddenly broke off while we were using it on the dog after having it only a couple of weeks. It has two sides with slightly different gauging between the comb prongs which makes it effective for all of our dogs many lengths of hair. The handle is filled with a gel so it’s really comfortable for your hands—even when doing the undercoat shedding which can be tiring to the hands . Of all the dematters we’ve tried, this one has been the most effective, the easiest to use and the most comfortable for our dog.NOTE: We did have an issue after about 6 months of using the dematter where we noticed the gel had begun to leak out of the handle but we called the company and they provided outstanding customer service. They were fast to respond to us about the issue and sent us a replacement tool right away.We would definitely recommend this dematter!
