These bags are great for storing almost any type of aquarium filter media you may use. I currently have two of these filters in my canister filter, one with Seachem Purigen and one with Seachem Matrix Biocarrier. Just a note these filter bags are pretty big when it comes to aquarium filters, one bag can easily hold at least a few pounds. MASS MEDIA. If filter space is limited, I would opt for a smaller media pack.
