I'd like to start by repeating almost all of the comments about plastic packaging on tubular frames. It's really annoying. Yes, these tubes are boxed before the chair is assembled. However, I understand why they do it... the tubes are easily scratched by other metal objects, and they come in a box with no seals, just wrapped in a large plastic bag. If the pipes were not wrapped, the pipes would most likely be scratched during assembly. It's not the best way to package a cane chair, but it's cheap. It would be nice if the whole chair was just wrapped in 1/4" thick foam or something, but that comes at a cost. I spent a good hour trying to remove all the plastic wrap. It breaks easily, so you'll have to do that most of it can take off quickly but I worked very carefully with the Xacto knife to clean it... be VERY CAREFUL it will scratch if you slip.The chair itself is extremely durable and very comfortable and allows for a nice extension of the seats in the cockpit of my boat, in general after unpacking the tubes I am very satisfied.
