Review on HELLA 005700881 550 Amber Lamp by Derrick Duck

"Made in Germany " - right?

This is one of the most expensive Hella headlights from Germany. So what? The quality is no better. I bought them because they were Hella's only yellow fog lights. Everyone else had clear lenses, which I didn't want. The cases are still plastic and the lenses DO NOT fit properly. There is a gap of approximately 4mm between the front of the reflector/lens and the front of the housing. It looks really sloppy and frankly disappointing at almost a hundred bucks. Also, the cases don't fit properly so I was worried they would fall off. In comparison, the Hella 700 that says "Made in Taiwan" is actually BETTER than them. In terms of performance, they produce a truly amber beam that's wider and sharper than the PIAA 520 I replaced them with. The beam of light is extremely wide and the cut-off is flush with the projector/HID light; pretty impressive. Likewise, they emit a light that would make a yellow canary disappear. If all you care about is performance and nothing else, these lights are for you.
