Insignia Portable CD Player We've only had it a few weeks but so far it works as described. Just make sure the CD is securely attached. We thought we did it the first time we used it, but when we had no sound we found that it had to be lowered onto the spindle a bit. Skipping tracks isn't a problem, and fast forward works well. The sound quality is decent for a relatively small device, but you should probably get better headphones if you really want to enjoy the music. We knew the power adapter wasn't included, but for the small additional cost it would have cost the manufacturer, it's a shame they didn't take the extra step and provide one. Many of the online adapters are all-in-one, so to speak, which means they accommodate many different current needs when you really only need one that's right for the product at hand. We were lucky that the Phillips portable CD player we replaced came with an Insignia compatible adapter. So we didn't have to buy it. If you are also buying an Insignia to replace an older model, even if that older model is from a different manufacturer and that older model had an AC adapter, you can check it out. If its power supply has a yellow coded input tip, it will work with the Insignia.
