Right away this fan was filling the whole room with a nice cozy breeze of variable strengths (as part of the setting it was on.It comes in a tall narrow box, the base is broken down into two pieces, it's plastic. At first I thought the base might be something that requires screws but actually it snaps right into place, then there is a large plastic nut that you unscrew and then rescrew to lock the base in.In other words, it works great, setup was easy and the settings on it are fantastic.
