This component successfully seals the underside of the front door, but not without considerable effort. First, the main bolt holes in the height-adjustable channel didn't all line up with the holes in the rocker housing it's in - two holes were fairly aligned, the third was slightly offset, and the fourth was probably a quarter of an inch. off (left to right) (Yes, I know the two components have a specific direction relative to each other and you can't flip that without problems, but I've tried both directions and after placing them in the visible direction, Drill bits 3 and 4 were still closed.) Structurally, this offset has little impact on how well the sleeper stays in place, but preparing for installation (allowing the screws to be driven directly through both components) required additional time and know-how -how. as with a drill and a dremel (equipped with a small grinder. stone). Secondly, while this is a product that will usually require some trimming to fit your exact door configuration, there are situations where you can theoretically use one end of the main hammer and height adjustable channel as is. But the one I received didn't even end up properly trimmed, requiring additional trimming of both components on both ends if you're trying to get rid of one or more of the crooked ends. Third, while I just got the adjustable sill section in the version of this product, no clearance, no gasket installed on either side, I wanted to seal it to keep moisture, dirt, etc. from getting into the thin gap. The side gaskets that come with it are too big for the ducts in the main sill, making them ridiculously difficult to press in. I was only able to push it in with the tip of a small flat head screwdriver and it took so much force to really push the seal in in places. After fitting a gasket, I found that the adjustable portion was so tight that I could barely get it into position by pressing on it with my entire torso. However, I was able to force it into the single weatherstrip channel and adjust it in height for a perfect seal at the bottom of the door before attaching the main screws. Therefore, this product bears a product label that the MD engineers themselves have not attempted to use for many years. If you're good with mechanics and don't mind sticking this thing in twice as long, you can get decent results. But this is a double DIY project and a clear example of a lack of quality control. Grab some samples from the pipeline MD guys and try installing one yourself.
