I've only ever used electric stoves. Cooking rice in my pot has never been a problem and it made me wonder why I would ever need a rice cooker. In April we moved into a house with a very good gas stove. Come to find out I had no idea cooking and steaming rice would be so difficult. Even on the lowest level, the pot continues to boil. I saw the review here and the problem is solved. Works great and I never have to worry about rice burning on the bottom again. I don't know how people can do without it if they have a gas stove.
