Review on LFPartS USA American Black Flag Metal Embossed License Plate (12&#34 by Shaun Bushey

The plate is beautiful. There are no comments yet on the durability of the black finish; In my experience with other similar items, any coating applied to metal will chip or peel off fairly quickly. However, I protect the plate with a UV stabilized (Lexan) plastic coating to preserve the mirror finish brushed aluminum and black lacquered/anodized finish. Time will tell how well the combination works. Note: the plastic wrap used to protect the record after manufacture is *incredibly* difficult to remove. This is believed to be because it is very thin and is applied to the entire aluminum sheet in the early stages of production. When the panel is knocked out of the sheet metal, the punch appears to melt the edges of the film slightly, making it impossible to lift the edge of the film for removal. At the end of the day I had to scrape the edges and top of the foil in the corner with a pocket knife to separate it from the panel. Be very, very careful if you decide to do this to avoid scratching the record and finish.
