Do not mount on the wall before programming! We mounted it on the wall before programming and made the fatal mistake of programming it with the door open, as the instructions make no reference to the importance of a closed door when programming and this error is impossible to erase from memory. You can erase the code yourself and replace it with a new one, but how it works will be remembered forever. When you program it for an open door, it locks it with your code and opens it with a simple press of enter, making your home welcoming of all strangers. After contacting Liftmaster customer service and following their instructions on clearing this code from memory, we ended up clearing the codes from all of our remote controls, but the door still opens with a single press of the enter button. I had to go back and order again and for a week we've been stuck with no remote access to the machines. Am I the only one who had luck with a broken keyboard? The lift master admitted he was defective, or is that everyone? It would be very useful to have at least one, and the instructions say in big letters that the door must be CLOSED WHEN PROGRAMMING and the keyboard MUST NOT BE MOUNTED on the wall until AFTER PROGRAMMING.
