I bought three of these. two for the bottom of the stairs where I only had two supports and one at the top where I wanted to use the wall for one side of the gate installation and the jamb was on the other side. The hardware is good enough. . The screws are standard, but (my fault here) if you don't use the correct screw bit when drilling, just rip them off. Also, one of the wooden brackets in the kit was extremely difficult to drill and screw into. It was a very hard wood. The thing itself isn't bad, but installing it makes the job harder. To be honest I had to let go of these things after a while as they frustrated me too much. I also wish the wood they provided was longer. I've installed tall gates and they fit just fine, but I had to raise them off the ground to make sure the top bracket could be screwed into something. Also, the pads they come with in the kit are terrible. Although they are made of the same high quality plastic, the problem is that piercing them melts the plastic and the excess skin has to be cut off or sanded off. After trying to use them, I just gave up and found a slightly curved "wall" to set up my gate. guess the baby gates aren't worth looking at either. and then, when the children grow up, everything can come loose and there are no holes in the pendants.
