Similar lights are sold as dive lights under different names and designs, but their inherent design flaws are doomed to failure. After a shallow 25ft dive in salt water, one of the two units I purchased failed. Was replaced under warranty after failure but was wondering why. So I opened it up to see what went wrong. The mechanics of the switch are not protected against corrosion, and if water gets inside, the countdown to failure will be counted down. The photos show a good new switch on the right next to a bad left. After only "one time" use, it literally rusted inside the case. Please note that we also clean all our gear, including headlights, after a dive. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your good money on this. Buy a well-known brand that is known for longevity and success. UPDATE: I spent $12 and bought 200 Melos 2mm x 3mm mini magnets and after drilling out the old one I was able to use one of these to fix the switch assembly. In the future I intend to remove and dry the switch area after every dive and cleaning. And if necessary, replace the magnet before it rusts again.
