The V-shaped slicer fits snugly into the slots in the bowl, so you don't have to hold it while you work. I had no problems with slipping - it's very safe. At the same time, it is easy to remove, giving you quick access to vegetables. The bowl is a good size and holds quite a bit, and it has a drainage feature at the bottom to keep your veggies dry.
