Ugh. The only reason I give this bike rack 2 stars is the extra straps that come with it! We made our way from Massachusetts to New Jersey, a 3 hour drive, with our two bikes tied to the ladder of our RV. When we first checked the bikes, the rack was already leaning down and our bikes were inches from falling off completely (by the time we got to New Jersey)! Luckily my husband used zip ties to secure the bikes just for extra security. which turned out to be the only thing keeping the bikes from sliding off the bike rack onto the cars behind them! We then took these two extra straps that came with the rack and used them to secure our bikes to the higher rung of the ladder, which kept our bikes from sliding further down the flimsy support bars. We were on our way to Florida and kept checking the bikes at each stop. Then when we got to Florida, we took our bikes off and destroyed the bike rack! Scrap metal! Feeling so frustrated and ripped off. Now we need to find a new bike rack to get back to Massachusetts and we need to fix the scratches on the RV from the bike pedals. Not the best start to the holiday.
