Review on Hanna Instruments HI781: Your 🌊 Reliable Low Range Saltwater Nitrate Checker by Jenny Gase

I have Hanna calcium and alkalinity meters and they are both great for checking my reef tank so I was very happy to see that they now have a nitrate meter. I've used half a dozen different test sets in the past and hate trying to match my sample to the color wheel. I wanted to love it so badly but honestly I couldn't be more disappointed. This is a ridiculously difficult test, with several more steps than any other test kits I've used that are a fraction of the price. The steps require a few precise measurements and some fiddly time, and if you don't get it right the prover will shut down and you've wasted very limited reagents (buying more is also expensive) plus probably twenty minutes. I'm going back to my other test kits - although I have to try and match the colors I'm much more confident in the test results and don't have to re-read the instructions every time I run a test. .
