I don't know why you're all so up in arms about this hard drive. Although, of course, my experience of using it is only a few weeks, but I did not find any noise and slowness. I got it at work for free as part of an external hard drive Seagate Plus Portable Drive. Since I already have a similar device and it is enough for me, I decided to use it for my home server as a system disk and a disk for Hyper-V virtual machines. Later, I think, I will transfer some of the virtual machines to another disk, so far its performance is enough. I also admit that it may eventually become covered with a copper basin, however, in order to reduce this risk, I set up a backup of it. I myself have been hooked on WD products for a long time after problems with a Hitachi drive that died untimely in a Bose, but I got this one for free and it’s a sin not to use it. In general, it's up to you, but for now everything suits me.
