The problem is that the plastic in the rotating part of the rod sticks to the stationary plastic and the rod stops rotating. There is a bug that there is an object under the shark. You can fix this by spraying tiny bits of silicone on the rotating part of the rod. There is a 1/8 inch gap. Once you've added the spray, the latch will rotate very easily. Since then I've run Shark many times with no errors.
