Review on πŸ”§ Wera 3950 Spkl/9 SM Metric Stainless Steel L-Key Set, MULTI by Bob Fasho

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best I've found for bike maintenance.

I use them every day for bike work. The Hex Plus shape is a killer feature and well worth the money. I haven't broken a single bolt yet, although that was a regular occurrence with my old hex set. They also loosen marginal, damaged screws, which I used to find very problematic. The color coded sleeves appeal to me a lot and help me find the right size more efficiently. Visually, I see no signs of wear on the tool heads after many months of use. Here are the cons: colored plastic. The bushings are much wider than the tool head itself and sometimes don't reach into the long, narrow holes. For this reason I have to have a second set of keys ready. The cases insulate very well from magnets and make it difficult to hang from a magnetic tool organizer. The lettering on the sleeves is almost completely gone now (but you get used to the color codes so no big deal) but I think they should be laser engraved or something. The storage box is completely unusable as it is very difficult to insert and remove the keys. I would only use it for travel. The store is useless. Overall I am very happy with these keys and hope they will last me for many years to come.

Pros
  • Hand tools
Cons
  • Very expensive
