This large, heavy and bulky luggage rack is a contentious issue on most bikes. I can load up to seventy pounds of stuff (actually I can carry a passenger on one of these, which is NOT RECOMMENDED) but most bike frames just can't handle that much weight in any way. I had an old 1987 Schwinn Cruiser that was literally trying to pretzel with heavy fronts and rears. I've seen that the front and rear wheels can be a few inches apart. The fork would happily bang to one side or the other when parked. It would have been EXTREMELY easy to use a strap to tie one side of the trunk to the frame when parked, but I was lazy and just got through it. Also, a lot of inertia was added to the steering, which served to slow down the steering. In fact, if you're looking to carry dozens of pounds of cloth, chopped wood, or other odd commodities, there's nothing better. Just make sure you're ok with the fork flop and some curiosities in processing. Oh, and don't forget to get a solid frame for goodness sake.
