DCM was founded in 1996 by David Chao and Dixon Doll and was conceived as a venture investment firm focused on early stage companies specializing in technology areas such as mobile devices, consumer Internet, software and services.
After its beginnings in Silicon Valley, DCM expanded into other markets such as Tokyo and Beijing. Concentrating its investment primarily in early and mid-stage companies in the U.S., China, Japan and South Korea, it also has additional investments in Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.
DCM Ventures has been ranked among the top venture capital firms worldwide, with more than $4 billion under management and some 400 companies that it has helped with their development and establishment in global markets, always focused on entrepreneurs and early-stage seed companies. From my point of view, that is where DCM's importance lies, in its policy of fostering the development of small and medium-sized technology companies.
I only have to object to one aspect of DCM, which is the design of its website, I find it a bit messy and not user friendly. It needs to be redesigned and made more user friendly, clearly defining the classification of the topics covered in it and making it possible to flow freely between the topics that are exposed in this website.
